Woodrow Thomas, Jr., 62, of 562 Brown Avenue, departed this walk of life on Friday, March 1, 2024 at the Hospice and Palliative Care of the Piedmont.

Born in Greenwood County, South Carolina on July 19, 1961, he was the son of the late Woodrow Thomas, Sr., and the late Helen Ruth Brooks Thomas.

He was a 1979 graduate of Greenwood High School and Piedmont Technical College.

Woodrow was a life-long and faithful member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church where he was dedicated in serving with the usher and trustee ministries. He also served as the church van driver.

Leaving to cherish his most fond and precious memories are a devoted sister, Lillian R. Thomas; one nephew, Derrick F. Thomas; one great niece, Tykeria Nelson; great nephew, Noah Franklin; one great great niece and two great great nephews.  Woodrow is also survived by a host of cousins, a close friend like a brother Doug Smith and friends who will truly miss him.

Public viewing will be held on Monday, March 4, 2024 from 1-6 p.m. at the funeral home.

A celebration of life for Mr. Woodrow Thomas, Jr. will be held at 12 noon on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church with the Reverend Deloris Henderson, Pastor and Officiating. Assisting will be Pastor Annette Edwards, Pastor Herry Mansel, Jr. and Reverend JoAnn Anderson. Burial will be in the Evening Star Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 11 a.m.

Pallbearers will be Trustees of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church and Friends. Floral Bearers will be Ushers of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church and Friends.

Honorary Escorts will be Greenwood High School Class of 1979.
