Willie Benjamin Tolbert, husband of Peggy Harper Tolbert, of 116 Old Ninety Six Hwy., died Sunday, August 13, 2017 at his home.

He was born in Greenwood County on March 23, 1938 to the late Gertrude Hackett Tolbert and the late John Henry Tolbert.

Willie B. was a graduate of Brewer High School, Class of 1958. He was employed by Tyco as lead supervisor of Mechanics, where he retired from. He was a Deacon at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church.

Willie B. was preceded in death by three brothers, John Henry, Jr., Glasco and Claude; two sisters, Emily and Shirley.

He leaves his memories to be cherished, besides his wife of fifty seven years, two daughters, Sonja (Brian) Perrin and Juna (Tessel) Deal, both of Greenwood; one son, Bobby (Delores) Terry of Philadelphia, PA; one brother, Frank (Lucy) Tolbert; one sister, Wynetta Parks of Charleston, SC; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; along with a long host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, August 18, 2017 at Mt Moriah Baptist Church at noon, with the Rev. Raymond pastor and officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Nephews. Flower Bearers will be Nieces.

The family will have visitation at the church 11 a.m. until the hour of service. The body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m.
