Willie B. (Bill) Hackett, 86 of 1548 Parkway, E6 Pineridge Apartments in Greenwood, South Carolina, transitioned to be with our Heavenly Father on Sunday October 9, 2022, at the home of his daughter.

Born September 3, 1936, he was the son of the late Ernest Hackett, Sr. and Carrie Lou Tolbert Hackett Sheppard.

Bill, known for wearing his long ponytail was educated in Greenwood County Public Schools. He served in the United States Army and attended Bethlehem Church of God Holiness. He retired from Grede Foundry after 33 years of service.

He is predeceased by six siblings: Bobby Hackett, Carrie Mae Edwards, Mary Alice Lake, Bettye Laster, Ernest Hackett, Jr., Edward Hackett, Sr., and his former wife Ruby Robinson Hackett.

Bill leaves three daughters to cherish his loving memories, Rinda Hackett-Harling of Greenwood, South Carolina  with whom he resided,  Tammie T. Hackett of Rosedale, New York,  and Cherry Hill (Glen) Dozier, Columbia South Carolina.

Two stepsons, Sidney Boozer, and Randy (Jamie) Boozer, both of Myrtle Beach,  South Carolina. He was also a loving grandfather to ten grandchildren; Seth R. Harling, Taylor L. Head, Tia E. Head, Anquawn Edwards, Ashley Carroll, Destini Ryans, Chloe Boozer, Jazmine Boozer, Brooklyn, and Ty Dra Boozer. Eight great grandchildren; Kayden Payne, Malachi Edwards, Briella Edwards, Ayvree Bethel, Adrian McCullough, Dedriana Conyers, Xayvianna Watt, Xayliyah Watt.

Cherishing precious memories are also three sisters, Bertha Hackett-Mosley of  Saint  Albans, New York, Clementine Bryant-Griffin of Greenwood, South Carolina and Tenessa (Harold) Kersey of Hodges, South Carolina;  two aunts; Reverend  Dora T. White of Greenwood, South Carolina  and Mrs. Elizabeth T. Richardson of Saint  Albans, New York.  Also mourning his passing are his faithful caregiver: Melissa Williams, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and his grand Fur Baby, Bleu.

Public viewing will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2022 from 1-6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM  on Friday, October 14, 2022 at Greenwood Memorial Gardens and Mausoleum with  Elder Reverend Dr. Derrick Scott, Officiating and Elder Marvin Norman, Presiding. Assisting will be Reverend Dr. Wiley White, Jr. and Reverend Joseph Caldwell.

Pallbearers will be nephews and friends of the family.  Flower Bearers will be nieces and friends of the family.

The family is at his home, E6 Pineridge Apartments  in Greenwood, South Carolina and their respective homes.

Parks Funeral Home is assisting the Hackett Family.
