Tommie Henry Laster, 57, of 46 Woodlawn Park entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at Self Regional Medical Center after a  brief illness.

Born in Abbeville County, South Carolina on November 22, 1961, he was the son of Mae Francies Grant and the late Asberry Grant.

He attended Greenwood County Public Schools and worked at several different places around the Greenwood Area.

Leaving to cherish his most precious memories are; his mother, Mae Francies Grant of the home; two children, Demetri O Marc Covington and Miata M. Goode; five grandchildren, three sisters, Linda (Tyrone) Bookman of Abbeville, South Carolina; Betty Sue Laster of Laurens, South Carolina and Martha Jean Gaines of Waterloo, South Carolina; three brothers, William (Juanita) Grant, Sr. of Conyers, Georgia; Kenneth (Jessica) Grant, Sr. of Abbeville, South Carolina and Richard Robinson of Laurens, South Carolina.

He will also be forever remembered by eight nephews, Terrance L Quarles of Greenwood, South Carolina; William A. Grant, Jr., of Savannah, Georgia; Whitney (Yushika) Laster of Augusta, Georgia; De'Shannon (Janise) Peterson of Greenwood, South Carolina; Charles M. Gaines of Waterloo, South Carolina; Kenneth Grant, Jr., Jordan Morgan Grant and Jessiah Morgan Grant all of Abbeville, South Carolina; four nieces, Cheteka S. Gaines of Taylors, South Carolina; Sheneka Grant and T'erra Grant both of Conyers, Georgia and  Keandra T. Grant of Greenwood, South Carolina;  six great nieces, Breyonna Z. Quarles of Elberton, Georgia; Sidney Laster and Kiley Laster both of Augusta, Georgia; Jayhla Anderson of Taylors, South Carolina; Maya G. Quarles and Jariah Elgin of Greenwood, South Carolina; one great nephew, Jamal Anderson of Laurens, South Carolina; a very special and dedicated friend, Cynthia Martin of Greenwood, South Carolina along with numerous aunts, uncles and extended family member to keep his remembrance.

Public Viewing will be held from 2pm til 5pm on Saturday, January 19, 2019 in the Chapel of Parks Funeral Home.
