Deacon Thomas McClinton 73, "Bug" as he was called by his family and friends departed his earthly life on Friday, September 13, 2019,

Born March 21, 1946, he was the son of the late Thomas McClinton and Annie Mary McClinton. He was a member of Saint Mary Baptist Church where he held many positions. Deacon McClinton loved to read and teach the word of God. Most of all, he loved his family and will be truly missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his son, Thomas McClinton, III,  brother, Eddie McClinton, Sr., and grandmother, Floree Anderson.

Leaving to cherish his most precious memories are; his wife, Emma McClinton of the home; two daughters, Antoinette (Derick) Smith of Atlanta, Georgia; Aprielle (Arndre) DeVoe of Greenville, South Carolina; one step daughter, Keisha Carter of Greenville, South Carolina; one stepson, Andrew (Sandra) Carter of Anderson, South Carolina; one sister, Evelyn Price of Tampa, Florida; one brother, Deacon William McClinton of Due West, South Carolina; five grandchildren, Khari (Kimberly) McClinton and Kamyah McClinton both of Atlanta, Georgia; Andre, Dylan and Iyanla DeVoe of Greenville, South Carolina; step grandchildren; one very special great grandson, Kaiden McClinton of Atlanta, Georgia; one aunt, two nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law along with a host of cousins and friends.

Home Going Service for Deacon McClinton will be held at 11 A.M.on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at Saint Mary Baptist Church in Due West, South Carolina. The body will be placed in the church at 10 A.M. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers and Flower Bearers will be friends of the family. Honorary Escorts will be the Deacon and Deaconess Board of Saint Mary Baptist Church.

The family is at the home, 17 Johnson Street in Due West, South Carolina.
