Mrs. Susie Lee Hart Woodley, 84, resident of 112 Ames Street North, died Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Self Regional Medical Center.

Born in Ninety Six, South Carolina, on July 27, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Joel and Pecola Waller Hart. At an early age, she joined Marshall Chapel Baptist Church in Ninety Six. After attending Brewer High School, she relocated to Dayton, Ohio, where she lived and worked until her retirement from the Housekeeping Department at Wright State University in Dayton.

Mrs. Woodley returned to Greenwood in 1998, where she lived until her death. Affectionately known as "Aunt Sue" by her nieces and nephews, she devoted herself after retirement to caring for her family members, her dogs and her flowers and plants.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Charlie Hart, William Hart, Sr., Raymond Hart, John Lester Hart, and Thomas Leonard Hart; two sisters, Beatrice Hart Ouzts and Donella Hart Dandy.

Surviving to cherish her memory are one loving brother, Brewer (Mary Frances) Hart of Abbeville, South Carolina; a stepson, Obie Louden, Jr. of Greenwood, South Carolina; a stepdaughter, Annie Louden Jones of Florida; three special nieces, Mary Ann Hart Jones of Irmo, South Carolina; Jessie Hart Burton of Abbeville, South Carolina, and Michelle Hart Byrd of Greenwood, South Carolina; a special nephew, William Hart, Jr., of Greenwood, South Carolina; two sisters-in-law, Clara Emery Hart and Clara Freeman Hart, both of Greenwood, South Carolina; a devoted friend and caregiver, Shunessa Anty of Greenwood, South Carolina; and a host of other caring relatives and friends.

Home-going services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 31, 2017 at Marshall Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Eric S. Morton, pastor and officiating, assisted by the Revs. Roosevelt and Doris Brooks. Burial will follow in the Oakbrook Memorial Park. The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m.
