Mrs. Rose Holmes Williams was born on March 27th, 1945 in Greenwood, South Carolina to Gradie Elliott Holmes and Maggie Johnson Holmes.

The oldest of 6, Rose was raised in Cokesbury, SC along with her siblings. She attended Brewer High School where she was voted "Most Talented." After graduating in 1962, she went on to attend the South Carolina Area Trade School for Commercial Training. Later in life, Rose once again sought higher education and received her Associate's in Business from Piedmont Technical College at the age of 60.

She and Harper Williams, whom she had met at Brewer, married on March 13th, 1965. They went on to have two daughters: Yvonne and Letitia. Last year, they celebrated an impressive 60 years of marriage.

Rose is remembered by colleagues from Central School, County Bank, Kemet, and Self Regional Federal Credit Union as a professional, dependable, and funny coworker. However, Rose enjoyed the work of floristry the most. With a love of all things floral, Rose turned a hobby into the business that allowed her to express herself through flower arrangements, bouquets, centerpieces, and wreaths. She was also a longtime member of the Carnation Garden Club.

As an avid Christian and longtime member of Morris Chapel Baptist Church, Rose was known to participate in several groups. She served on the Trustee's Board, worked with the Benevolence Fund, sung on the Senior Choir, and was proud to be a Deaconess.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Gracie Lee Holmes, and her daughter, Yvonne Llwendolyn Williams.

Left to cherish her memories are her husband Harper Williams of Greenwood; her daughter Letitia Williams DeVane (William) of Hartwell, GA: 3 granddaughters, Schuyler Williams of Greenwood, Darrah DeVane of Pittsburgh, PA, and Brittany DeVane of Demorest, GA; 4 siblings, Pheobia Holmes Horigan (Ed) of Freehold, NJ, Alpha Omega Holmes of Cokesbury, SC, Beverlyn Holmes Evans of Anderson, SC, and Vickie E. Holmes Johnson of Springfield, PA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Public viewing will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026 from 1-6 P.M. at the funeral home.

A celebration of life for Mrs. Rose Holmes Williams will be held at 2 P.M. on Sunday, March 15, 2026 at Morris Chapel Baptist Church, 530 Baptist Avenue with Bishop Oliver T. McCray Officiating and Presiding. Assisting will be Reverend Jerry Aiken, Reverend John Aiken, Reverend Sandra Harrison and Reverend Dr. Amos O. Harling. The body will be placed in the church at 1:00 P.M.

The family is at the home and will receive friends from 1-6 P.M. daily.
