Robert Leroy "Lightning" Irwin, 74,  formerly of 103 Sycamore Drive in Greenwood, South Carolina departed this life on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at the National Healthcare Center (NHC) in Greenwood, South Carolina.

He was born in Greenwood County, South Carolina on October 27, 1947 and was the son of  the late Annie Mae Irvin.

"Lightning" as he was called by his family and friends  was employed at Home Furniture Store in Greenwood, South Carolina for many years and later in life he worked at the Idea Shoe Shop in Greenwood, South Carolina.

He is preceded in death by his mother, five brothers, Rufus Irvin, Sr., Willie James Irvin, Charles Irvin, Tommy Irvin and Thomas Irvin; one sister, Pearlena Moore.

Leaving  to cherish his most precious and fond memories are;  his daughter, Zernal Johnson of Greenwood South Carolina; one stepdaughter, Tealee (Anthony) Keeno of Ninety-Six, South Carolina; one son, Utovious "Toby" Robinson of Greenwood, South Carolina; two stepsons, Bernard Thomas and Quincy Thomas both of Greenwood, South Carolina; five grandchildren, and four great grandchildren; three sisters, Patricia Irvin, and Anita Irvin of Greenwood, South Carolina; and Evelyn Irvin of Philadelphia Pennsylvania ; two brothers, Franklin Irvin of Jonesboro, Georgia and Rickie Irvin of Greenwood, South Carolina along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Memorial service for Robert Leroy "Lightning" Irvin will be held at 11 A.M  on Friday, July 1, 2022 at Parks Funeral Home.

Masks are required.
