Reverend Bessie Speaks Williams, 96, of  139 Russell Street entered into eternal rest on Friday, March 11, 2022 at the Hospice and Palliative Care of the Piedmont.

Born on  October 8, 1925 in Newberry County, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Wash Speaks and Carrie Caldwell Speaks.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jesse Williams, Sr.; two daughters, Juanita Rogers (Joe) and Deborah Smiley (John); one son, Jesse Williams, Jr.; four sisters, Seller Tine (Moe), Lou Annie Stewart (Richard), Fannie Neal (Maxie) and Emma Heard (Jack); seven brothers, John Henry Speaks, (Ruby), Odell Speaks, Howard Speaks (Essie),  Leroy Speaks  (Gladys), D.C. Speaks, Calvin Speaks (Iris) and Robert Lee Speaks (Mary Lee).

Leaving to cherish her most precious and fond memories;  one son, Steve Williams, one daughter-in-law, Josie Ruth Williams and a host of  grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

A Celebration of her Life will be held at 11 A.M on Friday, March 18, 2022 at Morris Chapel Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. Oliver T. McCray, Pastor and Officiating. Assisting will be Reverend Charlene Washington, Reverend Dora Ann White, Reverend Clyde Cannon, Elder Caroline Eason and Bishop Emanuel Spearman. Interment will be in Evening Star Cemetery.

Pallbearers and Flower Bearers will be friends of the family.
