Reverend Amanda Elizabeth Wideman Dale Drennon, 92, of 208 McKellar Drive, was born August 2, 1925 in McCormick County, South Carolina and was the third daughter of the late Mr. Elijah Wideman (1883-1951) and Mrs. Amanda Josephine Harrison Wideman (1893-1971). Reverend Drennon answered her heavenly father's call on Monday, December 4, 2017 at her home.

"Miss Lizzie" as she is called by her family and friends was  born eighth child of fourteen children, (seven boys and seven girls) twelve siblings preceded her in death;  five sisters, Eula Vivian Wideman (1935-1935), Ethel Louise Wideman ( John) McKinnie (1918-1975), Mamie Alberta Wideman (1927-1992), Carrie Pearl Wideman ( James ) Brown (1933-2006) and Mildred Wideman ( Percy ) Ricks (1914-2007); seven brothers, Oliver Lee Wideman (1929-1929), John Henderson ( Ruby Adams ) Wideman  (1920-1949), Fred Louis (Viola Shumaker) Wideman (1912-1963), Charlie ( Fannie Sturdivant ) Wyman, (1910-1969), Horace Carlton ( Dorothy Settles ) Wideman, Sr. (1923-1996), Charles Thurmond ( Luella Norman ) Wideman (1936-1997), and James Thomas Wideman, Sr. (1922-2015).

She is also preceded in death by her husbands Eugene Dale (1918-1958), and Sammy (Sam) L. Drennon, Sr., (1917-1989). Also a daughter, Leola Drennon, (1941-2004).

Reverend Drennon attended public schools of McCormick County, South Carolina where she was a member of the Mims High School Class of 1943. She was a member and associate minister of Shiloh African Methodist Episcopal Church in McCormick, South Carolina, where she was former President of the Twelve Tribes and member of the Senior Choir. She was a member of the Women's in Ministry of the Piedmont Conference and member of the Women's Aide Society #94. She retired from Talmadge Manufacturing Company in McCormick, South Carolina.

In 1976, she answered God's call and entered the ministry.  The following year, she was licensed as an evangelist in the Piedmont Conference of the Seventh Episcopal District of the African Methodist Episcopal Church by the late Right Reverend Frank Mattison Reid, Jr., Presiding Bishop.  In 1985, she was ordained a local deacon (Reverend) in the Piedmont Conference by the Right Reverend Frederick Calhoun James, Presiding Bishop. Reverend Drennon was the oldest minister of the Piedmont Conference of the Seventh Episcopal District of the African Methodist Episcopal Church.

Leaving to cherish her most precious memories are;  three sons, John C. Dale (Bettie) and Sammy L. (Thelma Diane) Drennon, Jr. of Greenwood, South Carolina and Glenn D. (Linda) Moragne of Snellville, Georgia;  one sister, Maude P. (George) Singletary of Detroit Michigan a nephew reared in the home, John Wesley Wideman of Elberton, Georgia; two grandsons, Tommie DeJohn Drennon of Greenwood, South Carolina and Adarius Lamar Moragne of Stone Mountain, Georgia; two adopted grandchildren, Wanda Williams and Michael Gladney both of Greenwood, South Carolina; five great grandchildren, Elijah, Zachariah, Shaniyah, Isaiah and Madison several Godchildren and  God great grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Zelma S. Wideman of McCormick, South Carolina; Eva N. Drennon of Greenwood, South Carolina and Darlene J. Drennon of Brooklyn, New York; and a host of nieces, nephews  other relatives and friends who will truly miss her.

The Celebration of her life will be held at noon on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Shiloh African Methodist Episcopal Church in McCormick, South Carolina with the Rev. Paul N. Wharton, Pastor & Presiding and the Rev. Samuel L. McPherson, Presiding Elder, Officiating.  Assisted by Rev. Oscar A. Klugh, retired Presiding Elder, the Revs. James Louden, III, Lebbie Ligon, Myron Hill, Isaac Booker, III  and Bishop Emanuel Spearman.

Reverend Drennon will be placed in the church at 11:00 am. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Nephews, James T. Wideman, Jr., George T. Drennon, Mitchell Wideman I, Stanley, B. Singletary, Erwin A. Wideman, and George T. Singletary, Jr., Flower Bearers will be nieces, Thelma W. Smith, Sigrid L. Smith, Melanie W. Rucker, Diane S. Smith, Marie W. Murphy, Beatrice W. Gillliard, Gloria W. Norconk, Benae G. Thompson, Carrie W. Whittle, Linda H. Phillips and Maxine W. Jennings. Honorary Escorts will be The Pastors and Ministers of the Piedmont Conference and Women's Aide Society #94.
