Pamela Michelle Johnson Ray, 57, of Jacksonville, FL, entered into eternal rest on May 7, 2026, at her home. Born on May 2, 1969, in Greenwood, SC, she was the daughter of Mamie H. Johnson and the late Ozzie Allen Johnson.

Pam was a proud graduate of Greenwood High School, Class of 1987. She worked as a cosmetologist for many years and previously owned and operated two beauty salons in Greenwood, SC. After moving to Jacksonville, FL, Pam continued her passion for caring for others by pursuing a career in nursing. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Florida State College at Jacksonville on April 29, 2016. She was formally employed as a registered nurse with Ascension St. Vincent’s.

Pam was known for being extremely hardworking, independent, and unapologetically herself. A true Taurus in every sense, she was strong-willed, determined, and marched to the beat of her own drum. She loved the outdoors, especially spending time near the water, and found peace in nature. Above all, Pam was a giving person who devoted her life to caring for others, both personally and professionally. Her compassion, selflessness, and willingness to help those around her left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her.

Those who wish to honor Pam’s memory are encouraged to carry forward the kindness and generosity she showed throughout her life by extending love, compassion, and selflessness to others.

Pam leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Treasure Amber Ray of Jacksonville, FL; her son, Chavous Johnson of Charlotte, NC; her sister, Sharon “Shel” Smith Jackson of Greenwood, SC; and her brother, “Antwan” Arnold of Greenwood, SC. She is also survived by her cousins Connie Johnson and Zandra Johnson, both of Jacksonville, FL; her best and dearest friend, Carolyn Cobb of Jacksonville, FL; and a host of other loving relatives, friends, and classmates who will deeply mourn her passing.

Funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Thursday, May 21, 2026 a Patterson Cremations and Funeral Service Chapel 6615 Arlington Expy, Jacksonville, Florida.
