Margaret Elizabeth Pope, 98, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 30, 2025 at the National Healthcare Center (NHC) in Greenwood, South Carolina.

She was a very caring and kind-hearted soul who loved her family, friends and her cats.

She was a member of Weston Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church.

She is survived by her niece, Shirley Garrett (Charlie), nephews, Alvin Hill and Bernard Hill, one sister-in-law, Clara Pope Reed and a host of nieces, great nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also survived by a devoted Goddaughter, Reverend Jacqueline Aiken, many special friends including Cozetta Williams, Renae Little, Sharon Johnson, Selma Sims, Marchelle Bryant and the families of Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Robeson and Mr. and Mrs. William D. Tinsley, Sr.

Public viewing will be held on Monday, June 2, 2025 from 1-5 P.M at the funeral home.

Graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, June 3, 2025 at Evening Star Cemetery with the Reverend Jacqueline Aiken officiating.

The family would like to extend their deepest thanks to the National Healthcare Center (NHC) of Greenwood, South Carolina for the exceptional care extended to Mrs. Pope this past year.
