Louise Callahan Mosley's Obituary
Mrs. Louise Callahan Mosley stepped into the presence of her savior on October 8, 2018. Mrs. Mosley was born in Bordeaux, SC ,and moved to Greenwood in 1946, where she met her husband, Willie Robert Mosley, who predeceased her in 2009. She was also predeceased by her mother Mrs. Lucinda Freeman, her sisters Mrs. Mary J. Whitaker, Mrs. Florence Gary, Mrs. Leomia Scott, Mrs. Willeva Johnson, and Ms. Elizabeth Callahan; also her in-laws, Mr. and Mrs. Gibson Mosley.
She is surviv ed by her daughter Carolyn Mosley Mitchell (and husband Tony) of Raleigh, NC, their sons Kevin-Noa Mitchell of Los Angeles, CA, Gary Mitchell (wife Miranda) of Alexandria, VA, sister Rosa Lee Nance of Albany, NY, sister-in-law Lillie Pearl Barthwell of Greenwood, a host of loving nieces, nephews and friends. She will also be lovingly remembered by her devoted friend and caregiver Lola B. Settles, and faithful aide Susan Brown.
Mrs. Mosley worked in food service all of her adult career, having managed and supervised several commercial kitchens and cafeterias in Greenwood. She was widely known for her delicious meals and desserts. She was also dearly loved and thought of as a second mother to many who knew her. She was a joyous, fun loving, kind and generous person, who spent much of her life taking care of any friends and family who needed her help. Mrs. Mosley was a long time active member of Springfield Baptist Church, where she served in many capacities.
Service will be held at noon on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Springfield Baptist Church, with Rev. Robert Knox, Jr., officiating, burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 11:00 am.
Pallbearers and Flower Bearers will be the Deacons and Deaconess of Springfield Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 11 am until the hour of service.
The family is at the home of 106 S Hospital St.
