Mr. Joseph Samuel "Wolf" Carter, 76 of 414 Morgan Avenue, Greenwood, South Carolina departed this life on March 28, 2022 at his home.

He was born in Greenwood County on January  6, 1946 and was the son of the late Ada  and Henry Carter.

"Wolf" as he was called by his family and friends was a 1965 graduate of Brewer High School in Greenwood, South Carolina. He coached little league softball and football and was a big fan of the San Francisco 49ers.

Joe was a member of John's Creek Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He was employed with Nature Scape Lawn Service for over 30 years.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, brothers and one step daughter.

He leaves  to cherish his fond and loving memories; his wife, Patricia Sayles Carter of the home; two daughters, Kimberly (Dexter) Barksdale of Greenwood, South Carolina and Montrez (Anthony) Bailey of Spartanburg, South Carolina; one step daughter, Stacey (Clifton) Lindsey Quarles of Greenwood, South Carolina; three stepsons, Ken (Demetria) Lindsey of Simpsonville, South Carolina,  Demecus Sayles and Brytavius Quarles both of the home; one brother, Willie Ray (Nell) Carter of Greenwood, South Carolina; one sister, Sarah Wilson of Atlanta, Georgia; three sister-in-law, Carolyn Carter, Ella (Alvin) Roundtree and Eddie Mae Sayles all of Greenwood, South Carolina; nine grandchildren; Fourteen great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.

A celebration of his life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at Parks Funeral Home, 514 Hackett Avenue, Greenwood, South Carolina with Reverend Melissa Spencer officiating and Reverend Jerry A. Aiken, Presiding. Assisting will be Apostle Alvin Deal and Pastor George Deal. Burial will be in Evening Star Cemetery.

Public viewing will be held on Friday, April 1, 2022 from 1-6 P.M. at the funeral home.

Honorary Escorts will be Brewer High School Class of 1965.

Pallbearers will be Curtis Carter, Jr., Torey Carter, Reginald Carter, Tavi McCauley, Reginald Morgan and Travis Washington. Flower Bearers will be nieces.
