John Henry Johnson, Sr., 72, of 111 Hickory Lane departed his life on Monday, March 23, 2026 at his home.

Born in Greenwood County on May 29, 1953, he was the son of the late William A. Johnson and the late Ruby Mae Johnson.

He was of the Baptist faith. He retired from Cardinal Health as a mechanic with more than 50 years of work experience.  In his spare time, he loved doing carpentry work.

He enjoyed spending time with his wife, family, friends and going to the beach and to the mountains.

He was an excellent husband, a great father to his children and also an awesome grandfather to his grandchildren. He was a very quiet and kind person and well known in the community for his skilled carpentry work.

He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, William Johnson.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife, Sabrina Johnson, four sons, John Johnson, Jr., (Tammy) Rodney Johnson (Marcella), Quincy Johnson (Alicia) and Marvin Johnson; one daughter, Bertina Johnson (Gayron); two bonus sons, Harold and Tyrone Curenton; one bonus daughter, Brandi Curenton; two brothers, Richard Johnson and Charles Johnson. two sisters-in-law; two-brothers-in-law; two close friends, Glenn and Lynn Belcher; his fur baby "Buddy"; twelve grandchildren, five great grandchildren, eight bonus grandchildren; one bonus great granddaughter and a host of relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

There will be no public viewing.

Funeral Service for Mr. John Henry Johnson, Sr., will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, March 28, 2026 in the Chapel of Parks Funeral Home with the Reverend Jeremiah A. Aiken, Officiating and Reverend John C. Aiken, Presiding. Assisting will be Reverend Jacqueline T. Aiken. Interment will be in Mount Zion African Methodist Episcopal Church Cemetery in Hodges, South Carolina.

Pallbearers will be Family and Friends. Flower Bearers will be family and friends. Honoray Escorts will be Greenwood High School Class of 1971.

The family is at the home of his son, Quincy Johnson, 221 Alabama Street in Greenwood, South Carolina.
