Joe O'Neal Jennings, 41, of 107 Bryant Drive, Greenwood, SC, husband of Stephanie Jennings, transitioned on Saturday, January 18, 2024, at Wellstar MCG Health in Augusta, GA. Born on February 18, 1983, in Greenwood, SC, Joe was the beloved son of Jacquelin Jennings and the late Joe Louis Jennings. He was preceded in death by his niece, LaTasha Cain.

Joe dedicated many years to construction and landscaping and, in his early years, selflessly volunteered as a firefighter with the Promised Land Community Fire Department.  Joe had a passion for cooking and found joy in preparing meals for his family and friends. Joe was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend whose legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Joe leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Stephanie Jennings of Greenwood; his eight children: Joe O'Neal Jennings Jr., Jabez William Isiah Jennings, and Santia Elizabeth Jerusha Jennings, all of Simpsonville, SC, as well as Jamari Johnson, Angel Johnson, Hezekiah King Jennings, Kanan Louis Jennings, and Zaire Thomas Jennings, all of Greenwood, SC.

He is also survived by his siblings: Lisa (David) Warren, Chadwick M. Norman, Tanesha M. Norman, Tara R. Norman, and Kenton L. Norman; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Thomas Nations and Diana Sexton; and a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, other relatives, and dear friends who mourn his passing and celebrate his life.

Joe was a man of strength, kindness, and unwavering love for his family and community. His light will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

Public viewing will be held on Friday, January 24, 2025 from 1-6 P.M at the funeral home.

Funeral service for Joe O'Neal Jennings will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at Mount Zion African Methodist Episcopal Church in Promised Land with the Reverend James Louden, III, Pastor and Officiating. Reverend Willie Neal Norman, Jr., Presiding and assisted by Reverend Krystal Bryant and Reverend Roy Lee Norman. The body will be placed in the church at 10:00 A.M.
