Joann Nicholson entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at the age of 71. A native of Greenwood, South Carolina, Joann was born July 22, 1953. She was known and loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Joann was known as the neighborhood Mom to all the children, and a faithful friend to all she came in contact with. A 1971 graduate from Greenwood High School, Joann was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church and was a member of The Women Aide Society #87.

She was preceded in death by her parents, C. B. and Thelma Nicholson.

Joann leaves to treasure her memories: her two loving sons, Travis Nicholson of Greenwood, SC, and De`Markis (Alisha) Nicholson of Simpsonville, SC; two sisters, Emma Mae Hill, and Carrie (Ronald) Forrest both of Greenwood, SC; three brothers, Booker T. (Rena) Nicholson of Dickinson, TX, James Marion (Diane) Nicholson of Greenwood, SC, and Michael Anderson of Lexington, SC; and a host of grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. Joann's kind heart touched the lives of many. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Public viewing will be held on Monday, May 5, 2025 from 1-6 P.M. at the funeral home.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at Mount Moriah Baptist Church with Reverend Raymond Adams officiating and Reverend Al Green presiding.  The body will be placed in the church at 10:00 A.M. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Honorary Escorts will be Greenwood High School Class of 1971.

Pallbearers will be nephews and Flower Bearers will be nieces and friends.

The family is at the home of her sister, Carrie (Ronald) Forrest, 112 Sheldon Avenue in the Bellemeade Community.
