Mrs. Jeanette Boozer passed peacefully into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Monday, April 1st, at Self Regional Hospital surrounded by her loving daughters.

Kent, as she was affectionately known by her family and friends was born January 10, 1932 in McCormick, South Carolina to the late Jane Collier Crosson and Raymond Luchey. She was educated in the McCormick County School District.  She attended the Historic Mims High School where she was crowned Ms. Mims High. She was a dedicated stay at home mom for the majority of her children's time in school, but was employed for a few years at Sky City Department Store in Greenwood.

Jeanette became a member of Weston Chapel AME Church in 2007.  She was an active member until her health declined earlier this year, serving many years on the Steward Board.  She loved her church family and especially enjoyed traveling to various meetings and conferences on the church van.

She married the love of her life, James Carroll Boozer, in 1961.  They were married for over 45 years until his death in 2006. Together, they enjoyed traveling to visit their children and hosting family and friends for holiday dinners.  Her children would drive for hours to come home just to have her delicious fried chicken and macaroni.  She also enjoyed reading and word search puzzles.  To know her was to love her.  She was a strict follower of the Golden Rule, and she instilled that in her children.  Jeanette enjoyed lifting people up and was a constant cheerleader for her family and friends. She was blessed with a strong will and inner strength admired by those who knew her.  She continued to drive and take care of her home until her recent illness.  When told to slow down and take it easy by loved ones, she always said that while the Lord provided her the strength, she would do for herself.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sons; Willie Alfred Blair, Larry Blair, Kenneth Eric Blair, Gregory Carroll and Reginald Boozer; and one sister; Willie Neal Fludd.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters:  Sandra Boozer-Greene (Socrates), Kim Boozer Williams (Andre), and Reverend Audrey Boozer; one brother David Crosson; two daughters-in-law: Lorraine Blair and Rosetta Carroll; nine grandchildren: Shaundrell Carroll, Krystle Dendy (Avis), Bethany Boozer, Eric Blair (Brittney),  Candace Greene, Chloe Greene (Eldren), Alexis Williams, Kayla Williams, and Caleena Greene; eight great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; a special nephew and niece Chuck and Mae Griffin, and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.

Public viewing will be held on Friday, April 5,2024 from 1-6 P.M. at Parks Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, April 6, 2024, at Weston Chapel AME Church in Greenwood. The body will be place in the church at 10 A.M. Burial will be at Oakbrook Cemetery in Hodges, South Carolina.
