Evangelist Carrie Jessie Jean Latimer Dorn, 86, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2024 at Lexington Community Hospice House in Lexington, South Carolina.

Jean was the youngest of six children born to the late Cagie Latimer and Beatrice Power Latimer of Abbeville County, educated in the public schools in the area and graduated from J S Wright High School in 1956.  She furthered her education at Denmark (South Carolina) Area Trade School (currently Denmark Tech) where she studied business and barbering.  She met the love of her live Elliott Dorn, Jr. of Greenwood South Carolina and shared 62 years of marriage until his death.

Jean retired from Professional Medical Products and was a Mary Kay independent Beauty Consultant for 39 years. She was affiliated with the Living Word Tabernacle of Faith in Greenwood, South Carolina and Mount Zion Baptist Church (Coronaca) Greenwood County

Jean is survived by her daughter, Sharon Alfredia Dorn-Cooper (Donnie) of Irmo, South Carolina; one sister, Lela Garrett of Jamaica, New York; one God-daughter, Santana Madison; two grandsons, Qasim Simmons (Prisilla) and Kamau Cooper (Kelly); three great grandchildren, one brother-in-law, Calvin Dorn, Greenwood, South Carolina; four sisters-in-law, Helen Latimer of Belton, South Carolina; Emma Dorn of Detroit, Michigan, Mildren D. Thomas and Belinda Dorn Turner of Greenwood, South Carolina and many other family and friends to cherish her memories.

Public viewing will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2024 from 1-6 P.M. at the funeral home.

A celebration of Life will be held at 1 P.M. on Friday, November 8, 2024 at Mount Zion Baptist Church (Coronaca) with Reverend Dr. Clara B. Cromer Officiating. The body will be placed in the church at noon. Burial will be in Evening Star Cemetery.

The family is at the home, 209 Manning Rd. Greenwood.
