Janie Bell Ross Lockhart, 83, of 113 Cole Street, widow of Robert Lockhart entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at her home.

She was born in Bradley (Greenwood County, South Carolina) and was the daughter of the late Milton Ross and the late Lela Mae Payne Ross.

At an early age she joined Second Damascus Baptist Church where she was a faithful member until her health failed.  She was a member of the Usher Board, Missionary Ministry and the Willing Workers Club.

She was a retiree of Greenwood Industrial (Nantex) after many years of service.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and brother, James Ross.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Leaving to cherish her most precious memories are; her devoted daughter and son-in-law, Patsy (AJ) Crawford of the home; her son, Charles Anthony Lockhart of Aurora, Colorado; nine grandchildren, Zachary Hodges and Nicholas Hodges reared in the home; LaTasha (Kelsey Belcher) Roundtree, Sabrina (John) McIntyre, Tamika Lockhart, Kelby Uriah Edwards, Carlos (Abria) Bennett, Eric (Porsiha) Crawford and  Everette Crawford; seven great grandchildren, two Godsons, Reverend Herry (Sandra) Mansel  and Nathaniel (Stella) Hearst; one Goddaughter, Tammy Roundtree Sampson, one uncle, Robert Payne, one aunt, Annie Payne, three brothers-in-law, three sisters-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

Public viewing will be held on Friday, June 12, 2020 in the chapel of Parks Funeral Home from 2 pm. until 7 pm.

Funeral services are private and for immediate family only.
