He departed this life on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 in his home.

A former student of Union High School in Union, South Carolina, James William enjoyed a long career as a supervisor at Carolina Pride. James William was also a skilled woodworker with the Pulp Wood Company.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his grandmother, Leola Walton; his sister, Sarah Louise Coleman; his uncle James Walton; and aunts Annie Ruth Spears, Bertha Walton, Brenda Coleman, Gracie Rice, and Ruby Lee "Joanne" Sims.

James William leaves behind his daughter, Yashieka Danielle "Molly" Spencer of Greenwood, South Carolina; sons James (Diara) Williams Walton, Jr. of Greenville, South Carolina, and Michael Deon Spencer of Union, South Carolina; 7 grandchildren: Ny'Asia Brianna Padgett and Ty'AsiaLa'Jacqueline Johnson, both of Greenwood, South Carolina; Jermelyn Williamson, Adrianne Walton, Cambriel Walton, Eden Walton and Kynnedi Walton, all of Greenville, South Carolina; 1 stepdaughter: Holly McDonald of Union, South Carolina; 3 brothers: Vashtie (Margie) Walton, Jr. of Kelton, South Carolina, Willie Mack Walton of Union, South Carolina, and Anthony (Valerie) Walker of Nassau, New York; 5 sisters: Mary Belle (Jessie) Kelly, Myrtle Walton, Albertha Walton, all of Union, South Carolina; Emma Walker of Hempstead, New York and Pamela (Cory) Rice of Columbia, South Carolina; 1 aunt: Rosa (Melvin) M. Norris; a special cousin, Annie (Richard) Dickerson of Columbia, South Carolina; a special niece, Demetria Quantye Walton of Fayetteville, North Carolina; 1 bonus brother, Reginald Rucker of Greenwood, South Carolina; and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Funeral Service will be held at 1pm on Saturday, January 28, 2023 in the Chapel of Parks Funeral Home with the Reverend Kabrina Bass officiating.

There will be no public viewing.

The family is at the home of his daughter, Yashieka Spencer, 109 Leslie Drive in Greenwood, South Carolina.
