Mrs. Helen Ruth Thomas, 96, widow of Woodrow Thomas, Sr. entered into eternal rest on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at the National Healthcare Center in Greenwood, South Carolina.

Born  August 19, 1922 in Greenwood County, she was the daughter of the late Annie Fuller and was reared by the late Charlie and Ella Brooks.

She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church where she served as the church secretary from 1943 until 1986 and was past President of the Junior Usher Board. She retired from Self Regional Hospital after many years of service.

Leaving to cherish her most precious memories are; one daughter, Lillian R. Thomas, one son, Woodrow Thomas, Jr., one grandson, Derrick Thomas, one great granddaughter, Tykeria Nelson, one great great grandson, Landis Miller all of Greenwood, South Carolina and many cousins, and friends who will miss her dearly.

Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 31, 2018 at Macedonia Baptist Church with the Reverend Deloris Henderson officiating, assisted by the Reverend Johnnie Waller.  The body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m.  Burial will be in Evening Star Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Doug Smith, Randy Lake, James O. Williams, Ronald Williams, Chubby Green and Henry Watts.  Flower Bearers will be Sherry Wideman, Lola Williams, Jessie Chambers, Dede Greene, Faith Greene and Stacy Lindsey.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 30, 2018 from 6 until 7 p.m. at Parks Funeral Home Chapel.

The family is at the home of her daughter, Lillian R. Thomas, 562 Brown Avenue.
