The kind and Loving Spirit of Eloise LaGroon Daniel Terry peacefully ascended to Heaven and into the waiting arms of Our Lord on June 11, 2021 at Self Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Terry, 86, of 119 Mosley Road, Greenwood, South Carolina was born March 26, 1935 and was the daughter of the late Claude LaGroon and the late Ella Harrison LaGroon.

Eloise attended McCormick County Public Schools and for most of her adult life  she was employed with Greenwood Mills until her retirement. She was a faithful member of Bailey Bethel AME Church from childhood where she was afflectionally  known as Mother Terry.  She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star.

To all who knew her, she was loved for her soft-spoken wisdom, warm smile, kind hearted, and gentle laugh while being strong and determined.  She had a big heart which she gladly opened without conditions.  She warmly embraced family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 40 years, Deacon Collins Terry, and her first husband, Floyd Daniel;  one sister, Annie Mae LaGroon;  three brothers, James LaGroon, Robert LaGroon and  Jefferson LaGroon and one stepson, Larry Terry.

Left to cherish the memories of a life lived in faith are a loving son, Rev. James McKee (Lorene); a devoted niece/sister, Annie Nicholson (Register); a stepdaughter, Ernestine Terry;  five grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and cousins along with her Bailey Bethel Church Family.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am. on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at Old Field Bethel AME Church with the Rev. Annette Edwards, Pastor, Elder Derrick Scott, Officiating and assisted by Rev. Carroll Wells.
