Effie Mae Madison, 86, of 205 Watson Street, died at her home on Tuesday, June 27, 2017.

She was born in Greenwood, SC, the daughter of the late Mary Moore Duncan and the late Willie Marshall Duncan.

At an early age, Effie moved to Washington, DC, and spent many many years with her companion, the late John Powell. She was a fun loving person and affectionately known as Tot.

Surviving two sisters, Essie Mae Brunson and Sonja Lewis, both of Greenwood, SC; one niece, Regina Brunson of Greenwood, SC; one nephew, Andrew Pete Brunson of Texas; one special cousin, Minnie Posley of Greenwood, SC; one stepson, Carlos Powell of Washington, DC.

Funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 2, 2017 at 2:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Parks Funeral Home, with Bishop Emanuel Spearman officiating. Burial will follow at Marshall Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be nephews and cousins.

Flower bearers will be cousins.

The family is at 103 Ashwood St. and 206 Watson St., in Greenwood, SC.
