Edward Foster, Jr., (Sonny) 83, of 111 Myrtle Street, Greenwood, South Carolina entered into eternal rest on Monday, December 15, 2025 at Self Regional Medical Center.

Born in Greenwood County, South Carolina on July 31, 1942, he was the son of the late Edward Hewster Foster, Sr. and the late Willie Mae Parks Foster.

He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and papa. He retired from Vulcan Company "Rock Quary" after 30 years of service.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Vickie Foster, one grandson, Billy Watson, Jr., "B.J.", five sisters, Lola Bell Settles, Marion Tolbert, Bessie Johnson, Alberta Hurley and Gladys Aiken.

He leaves to cherish his most fond and precious memories are; his wife, Mary Helen Foster of Greenwood, South Carolina; one son, Garrett Foster of Greenwood, South Carolina; three daughters, Sandra Corley and Wanda Foster of Greenwood, South Carolina and Ronica Foster of Charlotte, North Carolina; seven grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Public viewing will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025 from 1-6 P.M. at the funeral home.

Funeral service will be held at 1 P.M. on Saturday, December 20, 2025 at Springfield Baptist Church off of Laurens Highway with the Reverend Robert Knox officiating and Minister LaJuanta Hair presiding.  Assisting will be Reverend Henrietta Abrams and Reverend Sheryl Kemp Bailey. The body will be placed in the church at 12 noon. Burial will follow in the church cemetery

Pallbearers will be Jerrelle Anthony, Sr., Jerrelle Anthony, Jr., Maurice Grady, Stephen Foster, Drake Holloway, Reginald Parks and Justin Gilchrist.  Flower Bearers will be granddaughters and nieces.
