Mr.  Donnell Singletary, 66, husband of Gussie L. Mathis Singletary departed this life on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at Self Regional Medical Center in Greenwood, South Carolina.

Donnell was born October 11, 1954 in Bradley, South Carolina to Wilbert (Freddie) Singletary, Sr., and the late Vonzie Lee Hackett Perrin. He was the grandson of the late Julian Pruitt and Nettie T. Hackett and the late Gabe and Lizzie Singletary. He was a graduate of Northwestern High School in Detroit, Michigan, a former employee of The McCormick Correctional Institution, a former member of the local Greenwood A's Baseball Team, a United States Veteran and a member of Mount Moriah Baptist Church.

Leaving to cherish his most precious memories in addition to his wife are; four sons, Reginald (Frunadette) Norman and LaPorta (Brittany) Mathis both of Columbia, South Carolina; Curtis (Shonya) Norman and Rahmad Norman both of Greenwood, South Carolina; three brothers, Cedric Singletary, Sr., of Greenwood, South Carolina; Wilbert (Nicole) Singletary, Jr., of Tampa, Florida and Christopher (LaToya) Singletary of Oro Valley, Arizona; three sisters, Lucile (James) Blair and Karen (Larry) Perrin both of Greenwood, South Carolina and Mildred (Raymond Sr.) Johnson of Bradley, South Carolina; six aunts, three uncles, three sisters-in-law, grandchildren, great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.

Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at Flint Hill Missionary Baptist Church with the Reverend Raymond Adams officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Public viewing will be held on Monday, July 19, 2021 from 1-6 P.M. at the funeral home.
