Clifton Scurry, Sr., 81, of 108 Russell Street entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at Self Regional Medical Center in Greenwood, South Carolina.

Born on July 14, 1941, he was the son of the late Kellar Scurry and Nola Parks Scurry.

He was a member of Mount Tabor Baptist Church where he served as a Trustee and sang on the Men's Choir.

He is preceded in death by one brother, Virgil Williams, three sisters, Brenda Fuller, Annie Ruth Bell and Ellen Madison; one grandson, Brandon Derell Moton.

Leaving to cherish his most precious and fond memories are three sisters, Helen Anthony of Willingboro, New Jersey; Rosa (Jessie) Sattlewhite and Bertha Smith both of Greenwood, South Carolina; two brothers, Jimmie Scurry of Greenwood, South Carolina and Howard (Hassie) Scurry of Mauldin, South Carolina.

Geneva Adams Scurry, 77, of 108 Russell Street entered into eternal rest of Thursday, August 11, 2022 at Self Regional Medical Center in Greenwood, South Carolina.

Born on January 8, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Fred Adams and Ruby Jefferson Adams.

She was a member of Mount Tabor Baptist Church where she served on the Usher Board, the Pastor Aid Society, the Missionary and the Adult Choir.  She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Stellar Chapter 337 in Greenwood, South Carolina.  She also was a member of the Russell and Taggart Street Community Club.

She is preceded in death by three sisters, Betsy Mae Middleton, Lou Ella Adams Lagrone and Ruby Adams Goode; one grandson, Brandon Derell Moton.

Leaving to cherish her precious and fond memories are three brothers, Freddie Earl Adams, Tommy Lee Adams (Cynthia) and Earnest Adams all of Greenwood, South Carolina.

Clifton Scurry was united in holy wedlock to Geneva Adams Scurry and from this union three children were born; Clifton Scurry, Jr., Loretta Denise Scurry and Stevie Leonard (Twanna) Scurry; seven grandchildren, Nytozia Shire Scurry, Nytarcia Sadie Scurry, Courtney Michelle Scurry, Chantisha Coats, Stevie L. Scurry, Jr., Cire Lerick Scurry, and Christopher Duqarius Scott; seven great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends to mourn their passing.

Public viewing will be held on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 from 1-6 P.M. at Parks Funeral Home.

A Celebration of Life for Mr. and Mrs. Clifton (Geneva Adams) Scurry, Sr. will be held at 11:00 A.M on Thursday, August 18, 2022 at Mount Tabor Baptist Church with Reverend Roger L. Rivers Officiating and Reverend Dr. Derrick Scott Presiding. Assisting will be Bishop Emanuel Spearman. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The bodies will be placed in the church at 10:00 A.M.

Pallbearers for Mr. Clifton Scurry, Sr.,  will be Mount Tabor Baptist Church Trustees.

Pallbearers for Mrs. Geneva Adams Scurry will be Tony Jones, Kenneth Butler, Patrick Satterwhite, Luther Rouse, Rodney Johnson and Keith Scurry.

Flower Bearers will be the Women's of Mount Tabor Baptist Church.

The family is at the home 108 Russell Street in Greenwood, South Carolina.

Masks are required.
