Charlie Davis, 83, of 106 Cadillac Court entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, November26, 2019 at his home.

Born May 10, 1936, in Greenwood County, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Ben and Josephine Peterson Davis.

He was a member  of Old Mt. Zion Baptist Church where he served on the Deacon  Board and song on the choir.  He also was a member of Mt. Pisgah Masonic Lodge.

He was employed with Greenwood Mills, The Chamber Plant where he retired after many years of service.

Charlie loved the outdoors and had a great love for gardening and spending time in the yard.

He is preceded in death by  one son, Ronnie Edward Davis and 10 siblings.

Those who celebrate his life and cherish precious and loving memories include his devoted wife of sixty-one years, Dorothy Holloway Davis of the home; two daughters, Kinetta Davis of Atlanta, GA;  Loretta Davis ( Joel Lee) Calhoun of Greenwood; four sons, Terrell (Terri) Davis of Charlotte, NC, Stanley Davis of Augusta; Dexter Davis of Greenwood; and Greg "Meaty" Davis of Columbia; SC; 16 grandchildren, one reared in the home, Sinclair Davis; 10 great grandchildren; and one sister, Arlene Peterson of Philadelphia, PA;  He also leave a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends to cherish his memories.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at Old Mt. Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Danny Webb, Officiating. Assisted by Rev. Clyde Cannon, Rev. Willie Cannady, and Rev. Arthur Williams. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m.

Pallbearers will be sons and nephews. Flower Bearers will nieces and granddaughters. Honorary Escorts will be the Deacons of Old Mount Zion Baptist Church.
