Bishop Roosevelt Williams, of Greenwood, South Carolina, quietly departed this life on January 16, 2018 at the Hospice Care of the Piedmont in Greenwood, South Carolina. He was born to the late Deacon Robert Williams and the late Reverend Viola Abrams Williams.

He was educated in the Greenwood Public Schools and retired from Roses Stores.

He was born into the Pentecostal Church and served faithfully until his health declined. He was trained under the leadership of the founders of the Mt. Tabernacle Pentecostal Church, the late Bishop David Samuel (DS) Strong and the late National Mother Lois Boston Strong. He was also trained under great leaders as the late Bishop C. F. Ledbetter, the late Bishop H. L. Hill, the late Bishop Tommy T. Mansel, the late Bishop Douglas Thomas, and the late Reverend Mary Williams.

Later in life he was ordained Pastor of St. Luke Pentecostal Church, and he was crowned Bishop of the Mt. Tabernacle Pentecostal Church in 1985.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his son, Drexter (Romaine) Anderson of Acworth, Georgia; four grandchildren, Jason and Jenifer of Acworth, Georgia, John of Iwakuni, Japan, and Taneka of Kennesaw, Georgia; two great-grandchildren, Jaiden and Chandler of Kennesaw, Georgia; one sister Betty Ann Williams Spencer of Greenwood, South Carolina; a host of cousins, and as many as five generations of nephews and nieces.

Special thanks to his caregiver for seven years, Charles Vaughn, to Dr. Raymond Lewis and staff at Internal Medicine of the Piedmont, and Advance Pulmonology Associates.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Thomas C. Williams and Robert 'Bob' Williams Jr., John 'Bulee" Williams, and one sister, Rosa Lee Williams Robinson.

The family will receive friends on Friday 6-7pm, January 19, 2018 at Mt. Tabernacle Pentecostal Church, Headquarters (St. Luke Pentecostal Church), 204 Alexander Ave East, Greenwood, SC.

A private burial with the family will be held at Oakbrook Memorial Park, Greenwood, SC.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:30pm, Saturday, January 20, 2017 at Mt. Tabernacle Pentecostal Church, Headquarters (St. Luke Pentecostal Church) with Overseer Henry Lee Burton officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests all memorials be made as donations to the Mt. Tabernacle Pentecostal Church Building Fund, mailed to 204 Alexander Ave. East, Greenwood, SC 29646.
