Beaufort Gilchrist, 71, husband of Cleo Gilchrist of 106 South University Street entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at his home.

Born January 2, 1950 in Edgefield, South Carolina, he was the son of Beula Gilchrist and the late Milledge Gilchrist, Sr.

He was educated in the public schools of Edgefield, South Carolina and retired from Polaroid Company in Boston, Massachusetts for 32 years. After retirement he relocated to Greenwood, South Carolina.

He is preceded in death by his father and one brother, Orin Gilchrist.

Leaving to cherish his memory are; his wife, Cleo Gilchrist of the home; two sons, Ronald (Yolanda) Gilchrist and  Randy Gilchrist both of Boston, Massachusetts; four daughters, Mary E. Cannady of McCormick, South Carolina; Tangela Williams of Greenwood, South Carolina; Priscilla (Mike) Mikell, Diane Williams and Ladawna Nedwards all of Washington, DC; 18 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, his mother, Beula Gilchrist of Greenville, South Carolina; seven brothers, Milledge (Kendra) Gilchrist, Jr. of Greenwood, South Carolina; Augusta (Donna) Gilchrist of Clinton, Maryland; John (Jessie) Gilchrist, Bernard Gilchrist and Robert Gilchrist all of McCormick, South Carolina; Calvin (Beverly) Gilchrist of Johnston, South Carolina and Marvin Gilchrist of Atlanta, Georgia; three sisters, Janie (Hercules) Kelly, Julia (Lawrence) Wardlaw both of McCormick, South Carolina and Glenda Gilchrist of Greenville, South Carolina; one sister-in-law, Beatrice Gilchrist of Edgefield, South Carolina and a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing.

Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Parks Funeral Home conducted by the Reverend Rosa Fernanders, Reverend Dora Brooks and Reverend Eric Morton.

Public viewing will be held on Friday, April 9, 2021 from 1pm - 6pm at the funeral home.
