Mrs. Annie Mae Irvin, 102, of 103 Sycamore Drive, Greenwood, South Carolina entered into eternal rest on Friday, October 26, 2018, at Wesley Commons Health and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born in Greenwood, South Carolina on December 3, 1915 to the parentage of Allen Mayes and Elizabeth Glover Mayes.  Her mother passed at an early age and she was raised by her father and her stepmother Mary Irvin.

She joined Morris Chapel Baptist Church at an early age and was a faithful member for more than ninety years.

She worked in the food industry for over fifty years  and retired from the Greenwood School District as a Dietary Assistance.  She was an active member in the McKellar Farm Community Neighborhood Association.

She was proceeded in death by her husband, Rufus Irvin Sr., her sister, Arlene Ellgood and her children, Rufus Jr., Willie James, Charles, Pearlena, and Tommy.

Leaving to cherish her most precious memories are her children, Robert (Lighting) Irvin, Patricia (Ann) Irvin and  Anita Irvin all of Greenwood, South Carolina; Evelyn Irvin of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania  and Franklin Irvin of Jonesboro, Georgia.  She is also survived by four generations of grandchildren; 14 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, 40 great-great-grandchildren and 2 great great great grandchildren who will miss her dearly.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at Morris Chapel Baptist Church with Bishop Oliver T. McCray, Jr., presiding and Bishop Emanuel Spearman officiating, assisted by Reverend Derrick Scott, Reverend Ankoma Anderson and Reverend Roderick Cummings. Burial will be in the Evening Star Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 10:00 A.M.

Pallbearers will Danny Irvin, Kyrez Irvin, Steven Strong, O. J. Tompkins, Kendrell Irvin and Tommy Jackson. Flower Bearers will be Bridgette Irvin, Janetta Irvin, Sonya Cummings, Yashica Tompkins, Audrey Irvin and Shan Tompkins.

The family is at the home of her daughter, Anita Irvin, 611 Grier Street.
