Angela Arnetha New "Cookie" Simpkins, 59, of 107 Grand Prix Court in Greenwood, South Carolina departed this life on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at Self Regional Medical Center in Greenwood, South Carolina.

"Cookie" was born in Washington, D.C. to the late Virgil and Mary F. Baylor New. She was a graduate of Greenwood High School and a member of Marshall Chapel Baptist Church.

"Cookie" was affectionately known as grandma throughout the community and neighborhood. She was very caring and loving to everyone. Cookie will be forever remembered for her love of cooking and feeding any and everybody who came to her hungry. She loved her family and her children unconditionally.

"Cookie" Leaves to cherish her memories; two sons, Nicholas (Aneke) Simpkins of Batesburg, South Carolina and Joshua Simpkins of Greenwood, South Carolina; one daughter, Sharday Simpkins of the home; two sisters, Tanja New of Gastonia, North Carolina and Tami Ellis of Spencer, North Carolina; two cousins reared in the home Jimmy Lewis and Joyce Bowie both of Salisbury, North Carolina; four grandchildren, Joslynn Simpkins, Navy Simpkins, Nikai Simpkins and Uzziah Zimmerman; nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.

Graveside service will be held at 2 P.M. on Sunday, October 3, 2021 at Marshall Chapel Baptist Church, 2318 Louden Road in Ninety-Six, South Carolina with the Reverend Roosevelt Brooks, Officiating and  Reverend Doris Brooks assisting.

Pallbearers will be Christopher Bowie, Adrian Neely, Malcolm Lewis, Jamel Hearst, Leon Goode, Kentavius Harrison, Outerbridges Simpkins and Yah Oshawar Alkebulanis Ali Eli.

Public viewing will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2021 from 1-5 P.M. at the funeral home.
