Albert Sam Gaston, III, 28 of 657 Grier Street, Greenwood, South Carolina departed this life on Sunday, July 9, 2023 at Self Regional Medical Center in Greenwood, South Carolina.

"AJ" as he was affectionally called was born on July 8, 1995 and was the son of Albert Sam Gaston, Jr. and Veronica Rena Kelley.

He was a graduate of Emerald High School Class of 2014. "AJ" was known for his gentle and genuine soul. He was one who loved to have a good time and see everyone in good spirits.  He lived a life that exemplified purity, love and fun.  Let his life be a testimony on how to treat others and make them feel welcome.

"AJ" is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Albert Sam Gaston, Sr. and Leroy Kelley, Sr., and his cousin, Marcus Williams.

Leaving to cherish his most fond and precious memories are; his parents, Albert Sam (Jessie) Gaston, Jr., and Veronica Renea Kelley; paternal grandmother, Sarah T. Gaston and maternal grandmother, Emma T. Kelley; Siblings, Laqwanzaa Smith, Sheneka Sayles, Quintavious Johnson, Thomas Morris and  Rihanna Benjamin; Aunts, Ozanna Michelle Kelley, Tammy Denise Gaston, Carlette Seabrook and Natisha Mingo; uncles, Leroy (April) Kelley, James (Tamiko) Kelley, Anthony Kelley, Emmett (Venus) Kelley, Lewis Carroll and Greg Harris; Godparents, Mary Mitchell and Arnez Gray; God brother, Bobby Power; friend/cousin, Beverly "OG" Peterson and a special friend, Robbin Talbert along with a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

Public viewing will be held on Friday, July 14, 2023 from 1-6 P.M. at the funeral home.

A celebration of his life will be held at 1p.m. on Saturday, July 15, 2023 at Mays United Methodist Church, 535 Church Street North Extension in Ninety Six, South Carolina with Reverend Leroy Robertson officiating and Reverend Gerald Clinkscales, presiding. Burial will be in the Ninety Six Community Cemetery in Ninety Six, South Carolina. The body will be placed in the church at noon.

Pallbearers will Lewis Wells, Thomas Morris, Alvin Carroll, Anthony Kelley, Jr., Darius Gaston, Jermaine Coleman and Emmett Kelley, Jr.

Flower Bearers will be family and friends.

The family is at the home, 657 Grier Street in Greenwood, South Carolina.
